6 Essentials to Get You Through the Noosa Enduro

6 Essentials to Get You Through the Noosa Enduro

100 kilometres of Noosa gravel is no joke. Whether it’s your first time lining up or you’ve got a few editions under your belt, the riders who have the best day are almost always the ones who planned their kit before they got to the start line.

Here’s what we’d be packing.
1. Hydration mix you’ll actually want to drink

When you’re deep into kilometre 70, plain water isn’t going to cut it. A quality electrolyte mix keeps you actually reaching for your bottle. We stock Skratch Labs and Science in Sport each with slightly different profiles. Come in and we’ll help you find one that suits your gut and your palate.

2. On-bike nutrition

Gravel riding at race pace burns through your glycogen stores faster than most people expect. Real food works well early; as fatigue sets in, fast-digesting carbs become your friend. Maple Movement is worth a look, natural ingredients, easy on the stomach, and they go down well even when you’re not feeling flash. Stock up on enough to eat something every 45 minutes.

3. A hydration bag that stays put

You can’t carry everything in your jersey pockets for a 100k, but you also don’t want your setup rattling loose on a rough descent. Albek and USWE both make bags purpose-built for exactly this kind of riding. Bomber construction, stable on the bike, and sized to fit your spares without turning into a sail. 4 Point harness for superior comfort. As USWE proclaim, no bouncing monkey!

4. Tubeless sealant sorted before race day

Tubeless is the norm for gravel for good reason, but sealant dries out over time. Top yours up in the week before the event, not the morning of. We will be on site with the Maxxis Team Saturday arvo and Sunday morning.

5. A puncture kit as backup

Even with fresh sealant, sometimes a cut is just too big. Carry a tube, a couple of CO2 cartridges, and a tyre lever so you can convert on the side of the road and keep moving. We stock everything you need here. It all fits in your seat pack alongside your other spares.

6. Eyewear that handles changing light

Early morning starts, open fire trail, and tree cover that drops the light without warning — your eyes take a beating on a long gravel day. Oakley makes lenses built for exactly this: photochromic options that adapt as conditions shift, and frames that stay comfortable over hours in the drops.

Not sure what you need? Come into the shop before race day and we’ll help you put together a kit list that matches your setup and your goals. We’ve ridden this stuff. We know what actually makes a difference out there.
