The SILCA Protocol RCG-3 is a fast, versatile gravel tyre created for demanding courses and unpredictable terrain. It combines technology inspired by fast XC mountain bike tyres with a supple, race-focused casing designed specifically for modern gravel bikes.

Compared with the smoother RCG-1, the RCG-3 uses a moderate tread pattern and enhanced puncture protection. This makes it the ideal all-round choice when your ride includes fast gravel, rough forest tracks, loose corners and surfaces that can change considerably throughout the day.

Made for Noosa and Sunshine Coast Gravel

The RCG-3 is particularly well suited to gravel riding around Noosa and the Sunshine Coast, where routes can transition between sealed hinterland roads, hardpacked gravel, loose-over-hard corners and rougher forest trails.

It is a strong choice for exploring the Noosa Hinterland around Cooroy, Pomona, Cooran and Kin Kin, as well as bike-appropriate sections of the Noosa Biosphere Trails. Its combination of speed, traction and puncture protection gives riders greater confidence when heading beyond familiar roads or tackling longer Sunshine Coast gravel adventures.

Tightly spaced, elongated centre knobs help the tyre roll efficiently, while the knobs progressively increase in size and height towards the shoulders. This creates a larger, more stable contact patch when cornering without the vague or squirming feel sometimes associated with more aggressive gravel tyres.

Under the tread, SILCA's SealSkin protection layer improves resistance to impacts and punctures. It is designed to provide additional protection without making the tyre feel heavy or unnecessarily slow.

The Pulsar compound balances rolling efficiency, grip and durability, while the lightweight Race Casing maintains a supple, responsive ride. CarbonBead BeadLock technology helps the tyre retain its intended dimensions throughout its service life, and the tubeless-ready construction allows riders to take advantage of lower pressures for improved traction and comfort.
