Built for Noosa and Sunshine Coast Adventures

The RCG-4 is particularly well suited to adventurous gravel riding around Noosa and the Sunshine Coast, where hinterland routes can include loose gravel, sandy sections, rocky forest tracks and steep, shifting surfaces.

It is a strong choice for exploring rougher routes around Kin Kin, Pomona, Cooran and Cooroy, along with bike-appropriate sections of the Noosa Biosphere Trails. When conditions become loose or unpredictable, the RCG-4 provides the additional grip and protection needed to keep the bike composed.

The aggressive tread uses fewer but significantly larger knobs than the RCG-3. Wide spacing between the knobs helps clear sticky soil and mud instead of allowing the tread to become packed and lose traction.

Wider and taller knobs also place more rubber between the casing and sharp rocks. Combined with SILCA’s SealSkin bead-to-bead protection, the RCG-4 is the most heavily protected tyre in the Protocol gravel range.

Despite its aggressive design, the RCG-4 retains SILCA’s performance-focused Pulsar compound and supple Race Casing. This helps balance rolling efficiency, grip and durability, allowing riders to tackle demanding terrain without making the bike feel unnecessarily slow or heavy.
